in-and coping with being in the human world). There will be two
mermaids whose roommates are a siren and a selkie. Across the hall
from them is a Djinn (whose roommate is human).
Next door, there are two female elves (the Tolkien-type elf, not the
Christmas elf) with one male elf for a roommate.
On the second floor lives a centaur with a werewolf living across from
him. At the very top of the building, in the garret, is a vampire
(Stoker's idea of a vampire, think Dracula).
Comments, ideas, questions, suggestions, violent reaction? Anyone?
And the mermaids gain tails when they get wet. Like in the shower or
in the tub or something. But when dry, they have legs.
Tentative title is "Being Human." Should I add a banshee, succubi, an
incubi, and a troll, by the way?
A couple more things: If you DON'T THINK Dracula can be funny, you
OBVIOUSLY haven't seen Mel Brooks' "Dracula: Dead Loving It!"
Second, a Djinn (Genie) is a spirit/demon in Arabic mythology that
grants wishes and twists those wishes into something evil (sound
familiar? Wishmaster, Wishmaster 2, Wishmaster 3, and Wishmaster 4?).
An example of a genie on the side of good would be Genie from
"Aladdin" and Jeannie from "I Dream of Jeannie." Jadis, the White
Witch of Narnia may also be considered Djinn. She's have Djinn, half
giantess.
Third, a selkie in, Celtic mythology, is a seal who can shed its fur
and live on land as a human. A siren is pretty much akin to the
mermaid, luring sailors to their death and such, with looks and a
beautiful voice, but without the tail. And they're more vicious than
mermaids (maybe as vicious as the mermaids from Pirates 4).
One more thing: merfolk *DO* gain their legs once on land. *PROVIDED*
they'r dry. If they get wet, they get their tails back. And in case
you didn't know this, the very first time a mermaid or merman uses
her/his legs, IT FEELS LIKE WALKING ON BROKEN GLASS.
Finally, what would be funnier than creatures from another world
trying to figure out how things work in the human world?
