"I'm paying with my life for things that I didn't do," Knox added in Italian while fighting back tears and occasionally pausing to catch her breath, CBS News reports. "But I was not there." "I did not kill. I did not rape. I did not steal. I wasn't there. I wasn't there at the crime," Knox went on. "I insist I'm innocent and that must be defended. I just want to go home, go back to my life." 48 Hours Mystery's Peter Van Sant says that several members of the jury openly wept, as did journalists who have been covering the case. Sollecito -- who met Knox just as he was finishing up his graduate degree -- also addressed the courtroom Monday: "I never hurt anyone, never in my life." The murder weapon recently underwent more DNA testing that ruled Knox's DNA was "proved to be insufficient to convict."
